I came on here this morning and see the familiar faces and some of the things that have been posted overnight are very smile worthy but I always without fail, smile when I see Polaris' furry Gremlin and Frankie's avatar waving at me.

'What made you smile today?'

When a student from a school, other than my own, who was travelling on a bus I was on, reached over and said "you're a cool teacher."

Awwww, come here and I'll give you a hug... better now?
My day (yesterday) started off pretty yucky and I was grumpy. Had a blood test and they couldn't find a vein so it hurt a lot when they eventually did.
What did make me smile however was the rescue of the little Cockatiel in Sydney who was alone in a flat above where the tunnel collapsed 2 days prior to her rescue.

I smile whenever I see a happy smiling person, it's like it is contageous. I saw the pic below today and smiled automatically. Sometimes when I have a happy thought and smile when I am out at the shops I find others smile at me in response.

I just opened an envelope from Flinders Medical Centre. In amongst a whole heap of information and forms was a glossy pamphlet with a jolly picture of a laughing, extended, three generation family strolling along on a sunlight beach.

The pamphlet’s title?

Anaesthesia & you!

Damn but they must be offering some seriously good sh*t these days – I’ve never seen such a happy group of people! I remember having a general anaesthetic nearly 20 years ago and I was as sick as a dog from it.

I’m also PMSL about the info inside the pamphlet. Here’s a sampling from the first page...

Blah, blah blah...
“We hope this pamphlet will ease your mind.”

Blah, blah blah...
“Most anaesthetists in Australia are highly trained medical specialists...”

MOST?!!

Two sentences on from hoping to ease my mind you’re implying that there are some untrained anaesthetists practicing in Australian hospitals!!

If I wasn’t laughing so much I’d be wanting to know who wrote this pamphlet. It’d be easy enough to avoid the implication by saying ...
“Anaesthetists practicing in Australians hospital are highly trained medical specialists...”

And on to the last words in the pamphlet...

“Anaesthetists: ‘Caring for your life while you can’t’”

Sweeeeet! I’m glad that MOST of them are highly trained.

...all you gotta do is give the pig some wings...
