I saw the most stupid article I've ever seen in my life today in The Age. Seven came second the week Ten won ratings correct? Anyways, this article states that Seven is the biggest loser and that it will start losing from now on just because it lost a week to Ten, when I might add, Nine came third.

The Age was right because Seven came third in Melbourne and was the biggest loser of the week as the audience of many of its show had fallen that week such as "Desperate Housewives" and "Lost", which didn’t even make the Melbourne top 20.

Yes, but it is only one week. Why is everyone judging them so harshly? Nine and Ten have lost practically every week with the exception of the Com games.

Hello, my name is Mark Boyle and I am a very passionate Formula One fan from Western Australia.

I am sick of the way Network TEN Australia treats F1 in this country. Channel Ten have the exclusive Australian live TV rights to all rounds of the 2006-2010 F1 World Championship. This includes the rights to telecast Practice and Qualifying sessions and the rights to telecast highlights. In 2005 Practice and Qualifying was only shown for the Australian GP and the only races that were shown live were the Chinese (in the eastern states only), Australian (I think it was delayed in some states because Australia were in daylight saving time and the incompetent Channel Ten staff couldn’t work out the time difference), Brazilian Canadian and US GP's. I have tried writing letters, emails and ringing them to make a complaint and I am not the only person who has done this. There are a lot of people who are sick of the way F1 and its fans are treated in this country and they have also done this but they just don’t care.

F1 is one of the most watched sports on the planet. In 2005 the Canadian GP was the third most watched sporting event on the planet in that year. Australia is one of only a few countries (Only including the countries that have F1 TV coverage) that don't get to watch Qualifying and live races (Correct me if I’m wrong). Is this fair? No it isn’t! If Channel Ten are not willing to show Qualifying and live races, why do they have the exclusive live rights? This is another thing that really annoys me about Channel Ten. If they are not willing to show Qualifying and live races, they should stop being so greedy and selfish and share the rights with Foxtel.
Channel Ten are

1.Incompetent
2.Lazy                                                                                                                3.Selfish                                                                                                             4.greedy                                                                                                            5.Arrogant                                                                                                         6.Liars

Channel Ten dose nothing for Motor Sport in this country. Just because most Motor Sport in this country is on Channel Ten that doesn’t mean they care about it and it doesn’t mean they do a good job. There TV coverage for most of there Motor Sport is very bad especially when you consider they are our “home of Motor Sport”. Instead of improving there TV coverage, there’re TV coverage has got worse every year. I have got some examples.

1. They never have a single add to say when F1 or any other Motor Racing series will be shown so a lot of people don’t know when its on TV.

2. In 2005 they would give a maximum of 5 hours (If the time was needed) every Sunday afternoon to show Motor Racing. In 2006 they will be cutting 1 hour off and now only giving a maximum of 4 hours every Sunday afternoon.

3. There TV coverage of Champcars is delayed by 24 hours or more. It is shown at 2:00am on a Tueday morning.

4. Moto GP is shown at 11:30pm or later (12:00am or later because it never starts on the advertised time).

5. A1GP is shown at 11:30pm or later (12:00am or later because it never starts on the advertised time).

6. Saturday V8 Supercar races are show at 12:00am or later and this is V8 Supercars!

7. In 2005 they have lost the rights to World Superbikes (I think they still have the rights but they just choose not to show it), Australian Superbikes, Aussie Racing Cars, V8 Utes, Performace cars and Lotus trophy.

8. They have a Motor Racing show called RPM wich runs for 90 minuets but they have cut 30 minuets of and it now only lasts 1 hour.

9. They also had another Motor Sport show called "Trackside". On this program they would show V8 Supercar support races (V8 Supercar delelopment series, Carrera Cup, Aussie Racing Cars, V8 Utes, Performace cars and Lotus trophy. They have dropped this show in 2006.

10. In 2007 they will lose the rights to even more Motor Racing. They will lose the rights to V8 Supercars which means they will probably also loose the rights to Carrera Cup, V8 Supercar Development Series and Champcars. They can no longer call themselves “home of Motor Sport” in 2007 as they will only have the rights for 5 Motor Racing series (Australian Rally, World Rally, Moto GP, A1GP and F1). All or most of the Motor Racing serries that they have lost the rights for will probably go to Channel 7. In 2007 they will probably become the new “home of Motor Sport”. They might be showing V8 Supercar Qualifying and every race live, there might also be night race next year wich will be shown in prime time. There will also be a new 30 minuet show for V8 Supercars. Here is a list of some of the stupid things they do with their Motor Racing TV coverage

11. The Australian Grand Prix is usually shown live every year. I am not sure about the other states, but in 2005 the race was delayed for 1 hour. There was no reason to do this.

12. There’re TV coverage for the Japanese GP has always been bad as it is on at the same time as Bathurst. There’re TV coverage of the 2005 race was the worst it has ever been. There’re F1 telecasts usually runs for 2 hours and 30 minuets. They would usually only last 2 hours for the Japanese GP (and Chinese GP) in previous years but in 2005 it only lasted 1 hour and 30 minuets with only 2/3 of the race being shown. They had a 15 minuet preview and when they when the race they would cut out large amounts of the race making it very hard to follow. This was then followed by a quick review and a shot at the drivers celebrating. The thing that really annoyed me was they could have shown a reply of the full race at 10:30pm but they didn’t. There was no reason why they couldn’t do this.

13. The US GP (2006) will be delayed by 1 hour in every state and Moto GP will be shown at 12:00am in the eastern states and 12:30am in WA. They usually show Moto GP at 11:30 wich is already bad. They could show it at 10:30pm!

WA
6:00pm - 6:30pm The Simpsons
6:30pm - 8:30pm Big Brother
8:30pm - 9:30pm Law & Order
9:30pm - 10:30pm Law & Order
10:30pm - 11:30pm The Office
11:30pm - 12:30am Seindfeld
12:30am - 1:45am Moto GP
1:45am - 4:00am Formula 1
4:00am - 6:00am Moto GP

SA
11:30pm - 3:15am Moto GP
3:45am - 5:30am F1

Eastern states
12:00am - 3:45am Moto GP
3:45am - 6:00am F1

They are so stupid! 12:45am is live not 1:45am (WA time)

The 2005 Australian GP was delayed in at least WA (and maybe other states too). There is only one reason for this. They are very incompetent. Yes I know everyone makes mistakes but NOBODY makes as many mistakes as Channel Ten! They are always making stupid mistakes. They can't even work out time differnce between countries or states. If they are that stupid they could go to the official F1 website!

Maybe whe you become a TV programmer, then you can start demanding what gets shown when....

Maybe a better option would be convincing Ten to on-sell qualifying and practise rounds to Fox Sports?

Practice is shown in alot of countries but I am not too bothered if Channel Ten don't show it. I was just saying what they don't show. I would watch it if it was on but I am happy to use the live timming for Practice. Why don't you try reading it next time!

Dose BB (Your user name)? mean Big Brother. If it dose F1 Practice is a million times better than watching a bunch of losers doing nothing in a house for mounths!

I'd rather watch The Office than the Moto GP. I have yet to come across anyone who watches it anyway.

Why don't you go to Seven or Nine to make them pick up the rights? Lets see if they can do better than Ten.

The Office is a stupid boring show. Chanel 9 would do a crap job, Channel 10 do a crap job but I think Channel 7 would do a very good job. I think they might be the new and improved "home of Motor Sport" very soon. They have got the V8 Supercar TV rights for next year and they might be showing live (Probably AEST only) Qualifying, and 2 or 3 races. They might be night races that they plan on showing live in prime time. They have also got a new V8 Supercar show next year. Most will last 30 minuets and 4 will last 1 hour. By getting the V8 Supercar TV rights they will also get the Champcar TV rights as both Champcars and V8's race at the Indy 300. They will probably get the rights to up to 6 different V8 Support series. They have said having both V8's and AFL will not be a problem because they will work it out without any problems. Channel Ten didn't bother to do that and they show the Saturday races late at night. When you consider Channel 10 are always calling themselves "your home of Motor Sport" and they do things like they have done that is very bad. If 7 or 9 did the things that 10 did it wouldn't be as bad because they are not the "home of Motor Sport"! Channel 10 couldn't care less about Motor Sport! They are an absolute joke.

Your petition says you want all practice shown, it currently isn't,  where did I miss read it?  Qualifying is only the fastest practice round after all.

I was only saying get a life if you watched Big Brother. No it dosn't say I want all practice shown! It says I want Practice shown for the Australian GP. (It already is but I wanted to make sure it is in the future too) Qualifying isn't Practice. It is a way to decide who starts where for the race. Everyone knows that.
