It's better to use this button above someone's post, when you feel that way, otherwise you can end up with a pie throwing contest in this forum or all over the board in general.

It obviously isn't working.  I think he/she has just about offended everyone with profanities and personal attacks and is still allowed to post.

Can you satisfy my curiousity?

When we hit the report abuse link, does that go to you Devman?  If so do you see it when you log in as easily as a private message or is it in some sort of administrator interface that is harder to see... like what is easier to use?

When we see Administrator online, is that you?  Because he's stolen the cooler looking stars that go next to his name but never posts to use them.
Do you want one of us to hack in and switch the stars out in your profile and his?  Is he your boss?  Shouldn't you get a raise?

An email is sent to Devman for all new users who sign up. The abuse notification goes to both Devman and the system administration department.

We are currently getting hold of this users ISP details with a view to contacting them regarding abuse of their account.

I'm sure this leonard and all his prior and post aliases would have broken some of the telecommunications laws and this should be a matter for the police by now.  

A bit of stirring or mischievousness is fine and sometimes adds to the flavour of the moment but this person definitely has a problem and should seek professional help.

Thanks so much for the continuous heads up and feedback throughout the weekend and the events we've encountered with a certain user of the site.

As I have mentioned several times before, the onus is on me and my support team to provide a safe, friendly and usable environment for you to express yourself. We have procedures in place to deal with wally's like leonard (and his aliases). They include automatic reporting to our administration department, warnings and possible followup with the user's ISP if they severly overstep their mark, as was the case over the weekend.

It is a real credit to all of you who have posted in this thread that we have been able to easily control these sorts of hiccups. It says alot about the real quality of community we have already built up in such a short time. Each and everyone of you display a maturity and intelligence that I personally have not found in many forums myself - and I'm not just saying that because I run this one. Each morning is like visiting family and that's what a true community is all about.

Sorry about the rant - but I just wanted to let you all know that.

We are still monitoring this situation, so please let me know if you experience any troubles or unpleasant users of the site.
