Why is it that no matter where you live, there is always some drongo who thinks it is their "god given right" to "share" their second hand music with the neighbourhood?
Also it is usually only one, never 2 or more? do they have a secret network where they share info, like "dont live near me, I already annoy this neighbourhood, but that area over there needs annoying!" |

You will note that they never listen to music we appreciate either. . just 'thump-thump-jungle music' . . or screeching voices singing (use that term loosely) songs with no style. |

A young unemployed woman of 19 has just moved into a share situation with a friend of mine, a trendy old bloke in his 70's who looks like he's in his 50's, in the units over the back. Whenever he goes out to work as a landscaper she puts her Rap music on. Now it's not good Rap (if there is such a thing) it is very very bad rap. Her bedroom faces my unit block and the music blasts out of there. I think she is testing the boundaries and soon, very soon she is going to find just where those boundaries are. |

Whatever became of the old classics of 'Guitarzan . .My Boomerang Won't Come Back . .Sadie The Cleaning Lady?? . . why do our neighbours stubbornly refuse to listen to good music!. |

If you can access the flat through your friend, a 1/2 watt 220ohm resistor across the terminals of the speakers should fix that problem for you, if still too loud step down in increments of 50 till the max volume is acceptable! |

( I named a different store but the board edited it). |

That is so funny. Lol. Plus the fact they wouldn't let you write Richard Smith in a shortened form. Tandy and the other store are owned by Woolworths so really they are all one store! I have a fantastic sound system but would never subject my neighbours to such torture. |

Update on the ferals at no. 11: They have one of those small trail/dirt bikes. The other day they were riding it up and down the access road immediately outside our loungeroom window, no helmet, bare foot. My husband suggested they should move to private property to ride it and wear a helmet for their safety. Their response? A mouthful of abuse and several middle finger salutes. Oblivious to all this commotion, I arrive home from shopping to be greeted by threats of "we know where you live!". |

Nah, I won't. After all I have no need to follow them or take photos, and besides they're not sportspeople or even famous. |

Since last posting on this thread some things have changed. just to recap... There is one mother who screams at her kid (12 yrs) for up to one hour and every second word is 'f' but to look at you would never guess that she is like this. Her son has learned to behave like her and now fights back. She has moved to Townsville with her son. I don't even hear the 2 young women who moved in 2 weeks ago. They work hard and are quiet when they come home. I don't even hear them doing the dishes in the sink, through the wall. Something I always heard with pots and pans being thrown and things being smashed. I like it!
Then there is the young couple who up until a week ago were making our lives hell. A temperamental 21 yr old new father who is obviously unhappy with his lot in life would take it out on all the neighbours by screaming off in his souped up V8 at 6am every morning. The morning it was 20 to 6 I went to his girlfriend and mother of his baby and asked for their Real Estate's name and she pleaded with me not to report him.
In November there was an alcohol fuelled get together with another young couple. At 10pm they were loud and happy, at 12 they were still pretty happy but getting niggly with each other at 2am it had turned into a screaming match where the chick from no.2 unit screamed at the other couple to get the 'F' out, repeatedly. They eventually did and retired to the unit they share with an old bloke in no.4. Then the chick (19yr old mother) screamed at her partner and father of the baby and this turned physical with her attacking him. He kept saying 'Stop it, get off me' and when he was able to physically remove her off him (I could hear the punches) he screamed over and over 'F*** OFF'. At 3 am I heard the baby crying and could not sleep for the rest of the night. I could hear every single word through my bedroom window. I went to the old bloke the next morning, who had been my friend for 2 years and asked him for the Body Corporate's name he asked why and when I explained what had happened to him and how worried for the baby I was/am. He told me not to be a busy body, to live and let live, and that I was a bl**dy Nutter. That was it... I turned and began to walk out his gate, he yelled at me to come back (he wanted to abuse me some more) I refused and walked away with as much dignity I could muster and collapsed when I had gotten into my unit and shut the door. Then the fallout began. The young mother, babe in arms and with her 'on again off again' best girlfriend arrived at my door and screamed abuse at my son leaving an abusive letter behind. They were blaming me when they had broken Body Corporate Law, breached the Peace, you name it. I was in the wrong in their books for complaining. My son and I went to the Police Station the next day with a detailed written statement from me and was virtually treated like a child by the condescending prick. We stood and waited while he told me that I should have rung the police (to which I replied they wouldn't have been able to attend straight away, to which he said they always do). I could not be bothered to tell him that several years ago a nieghbour was bashing his partner, she was screaming like a banshee, the policewoman on the phone could hear it all, and yet it took 3 hours to respond to my call. By then both parties had left. He could of killed her, buried her in the garden and left the country by the time the damned police had arrived. Anyway... getting back to what I was saying.... we left the police station with the advice to 'wait and see what happens'. The young woman and her friend had threatened me with violence as well. Their payback was delivered a couple of weeks ago. They had collected a decent sized plastic bag of doggy-doo (their unit fronts onto a park) and hidden it in some bushes out the front of the units I live in, about 20 feet from my front door.. The stench was so bad we all heaved when we went outside. I searched and decided it was the humidty and the garbage bins. One bin in particular, my good friend's, was especially stinky. My bin is locked in my courtyard away from the other bins so was untouched. After garbage pick up another friend (from no.4 here) and I cleaned and disinfected all the bins and the bin enclosure and washed everything out. Maggots kept reappearing through the brick work of the bin enclosure. They just kept coming and coming.... the next day I searched in the bushes nearby and there was the culprit. I had to bury the bag of doggy-doo-doo as there was nothing else I could do. It had the biggest maggots in it I have ever seen. It was hidden so well so as not to be found easily. I know it was them and I think they also threw some in my friends bin. The smell had permeated my unit and I aired it well with pretty smelly things in every room to overcome the stench. I just wish I had caught them in the act. One of their complaints about me was 'TV too loud and laughing too loud'. Sorry, I'm upstairs showering and getting ready for bed by 9pm every night... laughing too loud... you've got to be kidding. Kids playing 'grown ups', silly little amateurs.

After reading that, maybe I might stake out the house and take photos. Someone called the police on them last night. There was a terrible fight going on. The people 200 metres over the road heard and came out to see what was happening. At least the police were there in under 5 minutes. |
