Grandad paid for a fishing weekend for my boys before christmas at the Hinze Dam (Behind the Gold Coast). I got dragged all over day and night fishing when I was a kid, (yes by "Grandad") so have never taken my boys out
My youngest (7) is a natural and loves it!
On the fishing weekend he caught 12 odd Bass (freshwater fish), the next nearest catch by anyone in the group of 15 was 8 fish. He also caught the biggest fish (46cm). As it was a "father son weekend" he did not endear himself by letting everyone know loadly and often just who caught the most fish, and the biggest!
Both boys were so excited I bought them Rods for christmas. So grandad took us all up to Baroon Dam (Behind the sunshine coast) yesterday. Once again my youngest caught by far the most fish, getting 20 odd, to Grandad and my 2 or 3 (my older son got 4, and a new nickname - being blonde, he is now called "chardoney - the white whine you have with fish!).
BY lunchtime I was revisiting my child hood, 2 hours since we had had a bite, hot as, with grandad saying just another hour, we might get a few more, me thinking why was I ever stupid enough to get back in a boat with him again! but my youngest was complaining - only another hour, he wanted to stay all day.
So obviously grandads genetics have skipped a generation. Now my youngest wants grandad to take him to Pine Rivers dam, where the bass average 50 to 60cm, luckily for us the dam is currently to low for fishing!.
My son did inherit one trait from me - he did not like the fish when it was cooked! Which is probably jsut as well, you are not allowed to keep any more than 2 Bass anyway! I think I am about to revisit the nightmare of my childhood, so my son can enjoy his new found sport. Geez the things we do for our kids! |

Depends on what you mean by "free" - Limewire is your friend, particulary when used in conjunction with "peerguardian". Limewire is also good for a laugh, type in "resume" in the documents search for a good insight into the average yank! Or if you are just looking for a safe way to download from web sites with out being detected, see item number 9 on this page for peace of mind. http://www.techsupportalert.com/best_46_free_utilities.htm |

yes i guess thats another handy site ..if one chooses doing it this way.
for me, the fact it did'nt get any search results for alot of tunes im looking for ( typical of a paid site though - let alone a shop !) ..i've tried quite a few of these sites too ...too limited ! - ideal for common or latest albums though.

I go through periods of ten years with my hobbies.
My first one was model railways. Invested $10.000 in it.
Then it was stamp collecting. Another $30.000
Then in 1994, I got my first computer. Another 10G went into that over the years.
I was also addicted to the Australian touring cars. Went to the races in Sydney. Bought all the books. I recorded on video tape every Bathurst race since 1984. And in the last 3 months, I copied everyone of them on DVD. These days, I still enjoy watching Bathurst, but that is about all.
The computer is still my hobby because it permit me to do so many different things.
I re-sold most of the stamps.
I still have the model railway and hope to put it back together someday.
I also love watching movies and I have started to buy the DVDs rather than hiring them. Another collection in progress.

my hobbies are the tv when sports are on, yes what 1930's radio show, animals, reading, writing, family history, and the internet. hubby likes fishing, snooker or 8 ball, darts. sometime i will take up my wooden cotten reel which has 4 nails on time and you kind of knit around the nails, i forget what this hobby is called. it is a shame you can't buy wooden cotten reels anymore. what ever your hobbies are hope you enjoy them and have fun. |
