Do you have a hobby or hobbies that you want to share with other people on this forum. I'll start the ball rolling. I sew. I make all my own clothes and some for others. I make lots of other things as well and enjoy the accomplishment of looking at a finished item, seeing the result and saying 'a made that'. I have been sewing for 29 years but really only got serious in the last 15 years. Also, I suppose you would call cooking a hobby of mine and gardening.

I rediscovered knitting last year after a 25 year hiatus. I had a number 2 clipper cut and was a bit chilly on the head in bed at night. Since I don't have a partner to scare, I knitted myself one. I then knitted a multitude of scarves from all the new beautiful soft yarn, and gave them to family and friends. Now I knit dolls dresses for my little friend, Abby's Cabbage Patch Doll and ChuChu baby. Keeps me occupied when watching TV at night. My sewing machine had siezed up when I rediscovered knitting so something good came out of something bad. I have recently had my beautiful machine overhauled and it works like a new one!

My dear old mum, God bless her soul, could knit and crochet anything while watching TV.  She seldom used a pattern and hardly ever dropped her eyes to watch what she was doing.

I never take my eyes off the screen when knitting and watching TV at the same time. It's so funny. I usually get lost with my knitting if the show I am watching is particularly gripping. A little 4 year old friend of mine is fascinated that I can knit without looking at it.

My favourite hobby is procrastination, and I'm very good at it.

I suppose mine are the internet and the television.  Almost exciting as race car driving but not as expensive.

Gotta say I'm with you Dean on that one! I love my TV and my PC which encompasses the Net. Libran's are very good procrastinators. Grand ideas but... it can wait until tomorrow.

Do they get built Simpson, or is it just for your own pleasure? I used to do that in my teens and actually designed the house me and my first husband were going to build but I left before it came to fruition, they were about to lay the slab actually!

Wooden toys are sooo expensive in the stores today, but they are making a come back - I think parents feel they are more durable, and remind them of 'when I was a kid'. You should look at selling on eBay!

If Lawnbowler is anything like myself he'll give away the majority of the things he makes. A good outlet for any excess things made at leasure are markets. We have the largest open air market in the southern hemisphere here on the Sunshine Coast at Eumundi.    http://www.eumundimarkets.com.au/
Wooden hand made toys are in great demand. I knitted heaps of scarves last winter and this but have given them all away. I do it for my own pleasure.

Cooking is the big one for me...love to experiment with new ingredients and ideas.  Sadly I love to eat as well.

Also do cross stitch - don't really care for the output too much...took it up when I quit smoking as something to do with my hands...and I've kept it up...something to do when watching tv (although I watch much less tV these days so do less cross stitch)

They're the only ones I can talk about in mixed company

Cheers, BSquared
