This morning on one of my news websites there is an article saying Katie and Tom may be having a baby. Well, after 2 wives and only 2 adopted children from those partnerships, I always assumed Tom wasn't able to Father children. There is a high probability that the rumour of the pregnancy is not true but makes me wonder if she is expecting, who the biological father is. I think their relationship & Scientology and all the whoohaa surrounding it is obscene. My daughter who is 28 would not give the time of day (romantically) to a man who is on the verge of being old enough to be her Dad, and in Katie's case IS old enough to be her Dad.

I think all the whoohaa surrounding it is just a matter of both of them being a little weird.  I don't normally know much about celebrity gossip stuff but this relationship was a little hard to miss.  Anyhow, hearing that he has adopted kids makes me think "Shouldn't they have stricter psychological screening for potential parents?"

All the best to both of them but to be honest, after all the spectacle I think we're all expecting it to come to some kind of dramatic and perhaps disasterous end.  I am anyway.  At the very least waiting to see Mr. Cruise on a talk show complaining about people following him around so I can think to myself, "You idiot."

I can just see all the tabloids chasing the REAL story behind this one... Doesn't Tom shoot blanks?

Good luck to them anyway, if it's all true.

No, Tom is just very happy... oh... you mean that kind of gay! Never have I once thought Tom was/is gay. I do however believe he is sterile and that just leaves one of those Scientology Guards that even follow Katie to the Loo as the sperm donor! Actually, I'll be surprised if she is pregnant. Remember all the times Jennifer Aniston was pregnant and lots of other celebrities and it turned out to be the wrong call? Let's just wait 6 months or so and see.

Exactly right MD. He really is an unusual piece of work.

I think he had quite a tough up-bringing as a kid himself, didn't he?

Tom Cruise: Bio from IMDB
Thomas Cruise Mapother IV
5'7" tall
In 1976, if you had told 14 year old Franciscan seminary student Thomas Cruise Mapother IV that one day in the not too distant future he would be considered one of the top 100 movie stars of all time, he would have probably grinned and told you that his ambition was to become a priest. Nonetheless, this sensitive, deeply religious youngster who was born in 1962 in Syracuse, New York, was destined to become Tom Cruise, one of the highest paid and most sought after actors in screen history. The only son (among four children) of nomadic parents young Tom spent his boyhood eternally on the move and by the time he was 14 he had attended 15 different schools in the US and Canada. He finally settled in Glen Ridge, New Jersey, with his mother and her new husband. While in high school, he developed an interest in acting and abandoned his plans of becoming a priest, dropped out of school, and at age 18 headed for New York and a possible acting career. The next 15 years of his life are the stuff of legends. He made his film debut with a small part in Endless Love (1981) and from the outset exhibited an undeniable box office appeal to both male and female audiences.

Though below average height and not particularly handsome in the traditional sense, within 5 years Tom Cruise was starring in some of the top grossing films of the 1980s including Top Gun (1986); The Color of Money (1986), Rain Man (198 and Born on the Fourth of July (1989). By the 1990s he was one of the highest paid actors in the world earning an average 15 million dollars a picture in such blockbuster hits as _Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994)_ , Mission: Impossible (1996) and Jerry Maguire (1996) for which he received an Academy Award Nomination for best actor. In 1990 he renounced his devout Catholic beliefs and embraced The Church Of Scientology claiming that Scientology teachings had cured him of the dyslexia that had plagued him all of his life. A kind and thoughful man well known for his compassion and generosity, Tom Cruise is one of the best liked members of the movie community. He was married to actress Nicole Kidman until 2001. Thomas Cruise Mapother IV has indeed come a long way from the lonely wanderings of his youth.

If he marries Katie Holmes, it will be his third marriage. He is very odd although I would not say his childhood and upbringing was tough. Different and rootless but not tough in the traditional sense.

About Celebrity adoptions.... it seems to me that celebrities get a home free card when applying for adoption. PLUS they can be as wacky and 'out there' as possible and the powers that be don't blink an eye. Look at Angelina Jolie, she has some very strange ways and wacky ideas. There are dozens of celebrities who have adopted children, too many to mention by name. Why is it that friends of mine were made to jump through hoops and do cartwheels and have three or more home visits from the adoption people before they were given the green light to adopt a Romanian child?

They so do NOT have a future together, and now they've created a baby to bring up in this mess? The child hasn't been born and already I feel sorry for him/her!

You've probably heard how they want Katie to have a 'silent birth'. This means no pain noises during the birth! getouttahere!

I must say the best thing about scientology is that Christians, Muslims, Mormans, they all agree its an insane cult! At last, something we all agree on!!

Atheists, Agnostics, People in Comas, Dogs, Cats, Trees...
lol... sorry I couldn't help myself.  I don't know anything about scientology other than "Tom Cruise" which shouldn't reflect on it, and that the founder was a paranoid schizophrenic from the sound of it and from accounts of others.  That and that people pay to have modern technology use conditioning for spiritual purposes, and that they pay some pretty big bucks.  And some other stuff that sounded really crazy that I can't remember now.  No nevermind the apology.  Apologies to any scientologists in particular, but Trees, Dirt... even the Space Aliens and the Boogyman think its ludicrous.
Hey what ever happened to that cult that beleived we are the result of Alien seeding of the planet?

Congrats Dean, you reached 100 posts and made me laugh in the meantime!
I have read and seen a lot of things on Scientology. It IS a cult and it even has a Celebrity Centre for Scientology for the likes of Tom and Katie, John Travolta and Kelly Preston, Kirstie Alley, Nicole Kidman, Priscilla Presley, Lisa Presley etal.
Some interesting stuff and facts on Scientology and other Cults can be found here:
http://www.factnet.org/Scientology/celebrities_con.html?FACTNet
I said it before somewhere that Tom insists that Katie not be left 'unguarded' for even a moment, which means she has company when she goes to the toilet and bathes, and the company of course are scientology people. To me that sounds like prison.
Dean... to your question... Hey what ever happened to that cult that beleived we are the result of Alien seeding of the planet? I am sure they are 'Out there'.

I think they look really good together but I would have got a little embarrassed with Tom when he was jumping up on the couch on the TV.

Tom is his own worst enemy. Tom made an absolute goose of himself jumping around like a 2 year old. I think they look cute together too, like Cewpie dolls. (Sarcasm intended).

I don't think I could have an actor as a steady boyfriend.  I would get really jealous when he has to be very close and kissing and stuff with someone else.
