Naturally, the Phantom comics are the best. They have been around for years and are still going strong with new stories and sometimes old ones being shown again. The Phantom (me) is a legend. Not many characters have stayed around as long as the Phantom. I am 400 years old after all. Ghost who walks, man who cannot die........
I have been collecting for about 23 years, and still enjoy reading them and they are not a ridiculous price so everyone can afford them. Usually only $2.50 every fortnight.
Get up there and start reading!

Unfortunately not. Lee Falk, the creator of the Phantom was born and bred in the USA.

Most certainly. You will have to visit a comic shop to find them no doubt. There is a comic shop near where I work, and they have absolutely everything. I also went to a convention the other weekend called Supanova, which was in Sydney, and you wouldn't believe the old comics there, that you hadn't seen since you were a kid. Certainly brings back some memories. I was also a young lad many, many moons ago, so I guess we are probably from around the same era. There were other comics there that I remembered reading like the Flash, the Fantastic Four etc. Captain America was also in that era. Truly great stuff.

I was just over at the comic shop, and mentioned your request. Apparently Captain Marvel was owned by one company, then they wanted to get rid of it, and Marvel comics bought it. I saw a recent issue comic there that was a joint Superman, Captain Marvel one, but apparently they can't use the name Captain Marvel on the front to promote it, but they can on the inside. On the front you will find they use "Shazam" instead.

The shop will do mail order if you're interested.

In case you were following it up, it's called SHAZAM/SUPERMAN: FIRST THUNDER. Details the first meeting between the two powerhouses of the DC stable. Last issue (if it is a 4-parter) of the four-parter should have been out in December.

I have just started reading Phantom Comics and came across an old comic where all these bizarre animals live on an island called The Garden of Eden.  There is a gorilla called Baldy and caveman-like creatures called Hrz and Hiss.  How did they get there

I can help answer your query.  My Dad and I have been Phantom fans for many years and have been collecting them for over 2 decades.  The Phantom put the animals there to keep them away from the evil clutches of humans.  He knew they would be exploited if man ever got their hands on them, so the best place he could keep them safe was on his island of eden.

Hi!

I am looking to sell my Phantom collection of 140+ comics, including annuals and special editions, either in bulk or individually. Their condition ranges from very good to fine.

I've typed up a complete list of the collection here:

http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=291402576&blogID=334378112

or see attachment.

My email is beth_rose7@hotmail.com, make me an offer, or please feel free to ask for more info about the collection, or individual editions you are interested in.

Cheers, beth_rose7
