I know I am cheating a bit but the closest SINGLE number one movie is the ENTIRE Lord of the Rings Trilogy(O.K.) I am cheating BIG TIME,but it is too hard to separate them.Sometimes just one scene will make me cry or give me goosebumps.Any body out there remember a movie called The Boy Who Could Fly,terrible special effects, but what a story if you have seen it and understand what it is saying it has to be in the top of all time

Number One would be:
The Fisher King by Terry Gilliam with Jeff Bridges, Robin Williams, Mercedes Ruehl, Amanda Plummer, amongst others, the first film that took me for an emotional ride on a rollercoaster ... even had me screaming at the screen (in the cinema mind you), No ... No ... it's not fair you cannot do that to him ... and the scene in Grand Central Station is one of the best scenes in a movie I have ever seen.
Then rounding out a Top Twenty it would be:
Brazil.
12 Monkeys.
Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas.
The Fifth Element.
Donnie Darko.
Pi-The Movie.
Requiem For A Dream.
Run Lola Run.
Old Boy.
Le Prix du danger.
Le Samouraļ.
Dead Man.
Buena Vista Social Club.
Wings Of Desire.
Night On Earth.
A Bittersweet Life.
Ichi The Killer.
Battle Royale.
Man Bites Dog.
Really they are in no order apart from the first fim, though a pattern is there as the first three are all Gilliam films as well, just love the way he tells a story ... and as this is long I will not go into details on them, there is always IMDb for anyone interested in any I guess. |

Oh my god I'd forgotten about that one. I saw that so many times when I was young. I was always so pissed that he 'escaped' in the end. Well, not in the sense that he escaped the authorities, but he buggered off and left poor Milly all alone! Hehehe, it's all coming back to me now. I love the scenes at the end. when Milly and Eric, finally go flying off around the neighbourhood, and Milly's little brother runs into Eric's uncle's yard and yells to him about how Milly & Eric are flying around the neighbourhood, and he goes "Yeah right kid, that's nice..", then they both fly past his window and he just has this look on his face like "Wha?" and his ciggie drops out of his mouth. We laughed so much at that scene, we played it over and over.. Oh, what a blast from the past!! |

'The Boy who could Fly' was one of my daughter's (now Twenty eight) favourite movies. Myself and my two offspring have always loved 'The Lost Boys' and own the DVD. I could no more pick a 'favourite' movie than eat a cactus. |

It's really hard to pick my most favourite as I am a real movie buff.. But one that is up there is "Twister", I am really interested in weather, and think the special effects in this are really good, also when I met my boyfriend, it's also one of his favourites.. Match made in heaven |
