What is your favourite movie of all time and why? I have several favourites myself. I could not choose between them if I tried but to start the ball rolling I would have to say the first and third installments of the "Lord of the Rings" movies. The reason being apart from the whole concept, is the whole experience with the spectacular scenes and the computer generated graphics for example the War Elephants. |

Only one? Waaaagghh!
One of my favourites is Wings of Desire, it's such a beautiful, sad film, as much about Berlin as the characters in it However, I'd be pushed to name my vary favourite.
My favourite LotR film is Fellowship, but I change my mind about this constantly anyway. It used to be Two Towers. |

I'm really getting into some of the old-school classics from the 1970's lately. I've only touched the surface of the 70's genre, but already I absolutely love classics such as Chinatown, Network, and Terms Of Endearment (albeit early 80's for that one). OK, I'm a chick and it's compulsary to love Terms. |

Maybe I should of asked... "what's your favourite movie in each of these catagories"... Sci-Fi , Fantasy , Drama , Action , Comedy , Romance , Action/Comedy , Action/Drama, Animated , Docu/Drama , Black Comedy , Horror , Thriller , Suspense , .... are there any more catagories? Lol. I must say I am a sucker for Kevin Costner's films especially 'Dances with Wolves' and 'Field of Dreams' even the 'Postman' rates with me. Saw 'Love actually' recently with Hugh Grant in it and absolutely loved the whole movie. It made me laugh and made me cry but essentially put a big smile on my face. My favourite genres are Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Thriller, Horror and Action/Drama. Only watched 'Pulp Fiction' for the first time last year and was blown away, absolutely loved it. There are others that are Cult Classics like 'Fight Club' and 'Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels' even 'Snatch' that I also loved. Keep it up people, give me your thoughts on your favourites. |

Barbarella of course - thought the pic might give it away! Lord of the Rings was good, but Barbarella will always rule! |

OMG hoss001, you brought back memories. Jane never looked so good. I fell in love with the Angel and the shell thingy where she and whoever got down and dirty. Oh my, I would love to see it again. I suppose compared to what we are used to these days it would seem a little unimaginative, a bit like the original Star Trek TV show sets, or Lost In Space sets and robot! But no one could ever come close to Jane in the gear she (almost) wore except maybe Ursula Andress in a fur bikini in what ever that movie was! |

Hahaha SuziH - I think Barbarella holds its own against most sci-fi movies today. There were some very original ideas, which inspired movies such as 2001: A Space Odyssey, A Clockwork Orange right up to Austin Powers! Plus it inspired Andy Warhol and The Beatles Sgt Peppers. Great costumes and great sets! And yeah, I remember that Ursula Andress movie with the fur bikini. Were you thinking of that dinosaur movie? Does anyone else kow the name of it? When people mention Ursula Andress and 'bikini' in the same sentence they almost always are talking about Honey Ryder in Dr. No! Sorry Halle Berry, but that scene will always be the original and the best! |

"Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" (the original) and "ConAir" would have to be equal top I think!!
Others I love are "Empire Records" "Anchorman" and "Dirty Dancing".
I also love the Mighty Ducks movies!! |
