I'm really tied here I just don't know who to go for this Saturday. I think I'll lean towards the Swans as the whole experience is pretty new for them. Hope old Barry plays too, gotta love a big lovable rogue like Bazza. |

Hopefully Barry doesn't get suspended, because it would be a huge blow to Sydney, but I do think he will be suspended by the tribunal.
Who's your pick for the Brownlow? |

I too think baz will get suspended .. but it is a very hard price to pay for a moment of stupidity. and remember was happened to gehrig earlier for his lovetap, he originally got 2 weeks (not sure how but we'll move on ...), so on that hall shouldnt have a chance in hell of surviving the tribunal.
i reckon, as much as i hate it, another eagle will win the brownlow, in cousins. other than that, if hawthorn were any good hodge would be another candidate but i dont think the hawks won enough games. also pavlich had an incredible 10 or so games mid-season but i dont think his form was that good through out the season for him to win |

Oh how happy I would be if Pavlich could win!! However, I agree that Cousins will win. Scott West has also had a fantastic year, but I don't think he'll have a chance after Cousins! |

Well I go for West Coast as well, despite living in Sydney. The rest of my family normally support Victorian teams but they are all going for the Swans. Ahh! My mum also has her Sister and Family over that day and they are all cheering on the Swans. Guess the house will get a bit tense on Saturday. GO the Eagles!! BC for the brownlow. |

I reckon the appeals will be turned down and they both will be rubbed out.............Shame and all that, but they are big boys and should know better............ I still reckon Eagles by about 15 points....................(I hope)........ |

Go the Swans. I hate West Coast. Last time I was in Perth I kept getting lost, and somehow kept ending up back in Subiaco. Now I hate it. It's the Swans turn for a flag. |

And do you think the Eagles could give a rats whether you were alive or dead? No. West Coast were sent to Perth because it was the farthest place away from anywhere and nobody goes there. Perhaps you should join them. PS Swans are not ducks. Eagles are chicken s#*t. |

Good to see a sensible comment. Since that day, I have always said that all roads lead to Subiaco. So it must be true. I do hope that since the GF is at the MCG though, that the trophy will be heading up the Hume to Sydney. You've had your turn. Now it's ours. |

well as being a west coast eagles member in 91-95 and been to every home game, i saw a game full of politics and umpires, flooding is not football and needs to be banned, playing the man is not football and negative, and where were the umps whistle when sydney held the ball in the scrums for about 50 times today, the vics r very afraid of us dominating the next 3 years and so they should be, SOUR GRAPES u may say, notice the suck job the vic media give judd coz hes a victorian, WA will seceed to australia in 5 years and u guys wioll go bankrupt |

Well done Sydney, you had a game plan, it paid off.......well done west Coast, you played as well as you could allowing for conditions............ There is always next year......

What a great game it was. Melbourne's had a carnival atmosphere with all the interstate visitors. There's been a really good vibe in town since Friday morning, and I've met a lot of lovely people who travelled here for the game but also took the time to have a good gander around the place. I also loved the way so many of them loved the trams - and were keen to chat rather than just sit in rows. Seems a shame the party has to finish. |

SOUR GRAPES u may say
sounds like it to me. let's face it, the best team (on the day) won. both sides had their chances and sydney made the best of theirs. there'll be next year. i wonder if a vic club will make it to the g/f in 2006. it's been a bit of a drought in past years hehe! |

Too true, Paula. But I noticed that the AFL Hierachy on the day did not let us forget that the Swans were a Melbourne team originally. Always good to look like they are welcoming with open arms a team so often portrayed as the poor relation. Maybe that should be 'Black Sheep' but the end result is the same... The Cup is in the most beautiful city in Australia, if not the World. Psssst... that's not Melbourne! |

As someone who had no vested interest in either team winning (or losing) I thought it a ripper of a game and a truly national finals at last. Also, the atmosphere in town has been quite carnival for the three days from Friday, with fans from both teams out in force enjoying themselves.
I think I would've preferred a Weagles win if really pushed, but am quite happy with Sydney too: it's been a long time between flags for that team.
Here's to next year! |
