Just watched the 1st Episode of Amazing Race 8 - Family Edition.  It was so cool!  Going to be an interesting journey!

Yesterday while on the stairs, I saw a Man who wasn't there.  He wasn't there again today...I wish that He would go away!!

Charmed I'm sure. I have hated Tom on the Mole since day one when he made all the stuff ups live. Grant was much better. Bring back Grant.

The Mole is fast building to a climax, so maybe we might have time for an Amazing Race series before ratings finish for the year. Here's hoping. I could watch that show constantly, continuously etc etc.

Quoted from vexatious

Channel 7 are hoping to make we fans of TAR shift our loyalties to The Mole.

lol i think we have - it rates just as well as TAR did and its production values are very very high. I think seven could get away with making its own verion of TAR and have it look like the real deal.

I've had to restrain myself on what I read about The Amazing Race.. for the usual fear of finding out something I dont want to know. A while ago I was so desperate to look at TAR website that I did... and as the page was loading I saw 'CONGRATULATIONS TO THE WINNERS OF AMAZING RACE 6 - FREDDY & KENDRA!'... and that was about 4-5 episodes to go until the final aired here. D'oh!

I am such a fan of TAR. I'd count it as one of my all-time favourite shows, which is why I get PISSED OFF by the airing schedule and not being able to look at the websites.

From what little I have allowed myself to read about TAR8 Family Edition has been that it didn't work quite as well as they hoped. Apparently it is not worldwide, but restricted to basically the American Landmass (dunno what else to call it).. ie, throughout United States, also Canada and up to Alaska and down to south America too, which is sensible I guess. But apparently when you dealt with teams of four it was a lot more dfficult, especially when some of those members were younger kids. I don't know what the age requirement was, 14 year old? Anyway they said it was an interesting experiment and they did have fun but they wont try that format again.

Hey I'd be happy for *any* amazing race. If I still had Foxtel I'd probably be watching the repeats.

"Fry, this isn't TV, it's real life, can't you tell the difference?"
"Sure, I just like TV better."

Friends of mine in the US say that the family season was a big yawn...a big part of the appeal of the show is the exotic locations, watching the people deal with language propblems, seeing the tasks which are usually based on local customs etc.  Apparently doing the whole thing in the US and Canada made it very boring because you missed all of that.

Sadly I know who won the season already so not sure I'll be watching next season too much.

Cheers, BSquared
