It might make for a good sticky post in the Television, News, and Politics forums.

Hi Devman.  Merry Christmas!

Can we have this smiley in the smiley set?  It's an eblah smiley.  I stole it quite some time ago.

Also, if I bother to take the time one of these days and put rosey embarrased cheeks on one of these can we consider using it... are they copyrighted that we know of and if so... nevermind, I'll just throw them out for consideration if I ever get bored enough to bother with them.  The first one up top is an eblah original though.  I can find and hotlink to it on the old forum if you need me to.

Hey MD,

Send a collection of graphics through (maybe just post them onscreen and I can copy and paste them), and I'll collect them up into a new smiley pack.

This has actually given me an idea - The Great Smiley Creation Competition?

We have some exciting competitions happening for eBlah! members in 2006, thanks to the guys at FOXTEL. Will fill you in soon.

cheers, and merry christmas all.

Cheers,
Devman

That sounds good, a competition.  The worry is copyrighted stuff being used.

I was thinking that if the smileys were broken up into two or more sets, 2  or more separate links for the "Add More Smiley" popup then it might be easier for people on dialup but I don't remember if it's a concern or not nor do I know if it's feasable to implement.

For the past three days I've not been seeing the graphics that indicate a new post in a thread, in the Television General forum.  I don't know if it's a problem with my browser or if I hit some funky redirect after clicking there from the portal, logging in and then bookmarking the page, or if it's just like that for right now.  Can someone else please tell me if threads with new replys are indicated in the Television General Forum for them.

If it isn't something I've done, then additional information is that other forums aren't doing it but I of course don't click on them and the front page does report new posts in Television general... it's just the threads inside that do not

Edit: I'de delete but I don't know if it's been read and being looked at.  I had this link bookmarked
http://www.ebroadcast.com.au/eblah/b-tv/v-mark/l-bdis/ which looks like it would have caused my problem.

You are not alone with the graphic error . . . I have noticed a new post a couple of times that had no blue 'tag' . . also a post that showed on the Index as added by Babes_Mate that did not show when I entered the thread. All other Babes_M posts showed though.

I would like to see the clearing of  new post 'tags' once we leave the board . . so we can put aside the posts we are not going to read. . and view the newer ones next visit . . 'tags' in some threads are still showing in areas I don't go into weeks after a visit. I am not inclined to visit each and every thread to turn the 'tags' off.

The pages seem to need a lot of refreshing to keep new posts showing and the Index current.

You can always hit Mark As Read on the front page before you leave.  It won't mark things inside a forum but it will mark the front page with no new posts.

I don't like the idea of marking off the whole place.  If I don't get a chance to read everything I want it would screw things up for me.

There's some spam in my private message inbox.  It's not commercial spam but "Join my forum please" type of stuff.  I don't care if an administrator goes in for a look at my messages either, to see if they consider it spam as well and what they might want to do about it if anything.

I too received the same 'spam'. I received a similar one months ago from the same eBlaher but they have since changed their nic. I ignored it. I don't think it appropriate that forum users do this to their fellow forum users. I received a similar invite from a forum user who was short lived a couple of months ago also. I find it an abuse of priveledge because I don't want to offend and end up checking out the forum mentioned in the spam.
