Has ER been taken off the air again? There is a movie on tonight instead of a new episode! I wish they'd say something, instead of leaving the season hanging. They have 10 episodes to air yet!

Last nights programming really showed the poor state Australian television is in. At 7:30 the commercial networks gave us the options of, watching a fat-off, cricket (again), or Kylie Minogue. Anyone else say NO BLANKING WAY to this selection??

Ten was really good last night - hour of Biggest Loser, all new Bondi Rescue, NCIS even if they were repeats they were still good. But yeah, the other channels were pretty s**t.

While NCIS is a great series that was a season 1 repeat, and it had been repeated previously. The only thumbs up I'll give for programming the whole night is Burn Notice. Ten have shown four episodes in a row! I think it might be a record for them.

Burn Notice almost hit the magic million mark last night too, which is a good sign (especially for a 9.30 show), it might be here to stay WOOT! More and more people seem to be sampling it every week and sticking with it... TEN's programming seems to have shaped up this year.

1/2 the schedule is fat people and an amateur dance contest (which will likely swap over to a group of people who can't sing very well and the ultimate moron fest), so lets not get to ahead of ourselves!

Same here! This show is soooooo good that even repeats are re-watchable!

Burn Notice IMHO, is one of the better shows of the past 5 years. Love it!

I am glad about this.  I quite like the show, but she irritates me...

New host for Australia's Funniest Home Videos
Posted in: Nine Network
By Nine Network
Jan 23, 2008 - 10:44:50 AM

The Nine Network Australia today announced it is looking for a new host for the ever-popular Australia’s Funniest Home Video Show, with the news that Toni Pearen has decided to move on.

The multi-talented Pearen, who has hosted the show since 2003, said: "It's been an absolute joy to have worked with such a great team of people. I'm proud to have been a part of the success and growth of the show over the last 5 years, but I feel it's time for change. It's an exciting time at Nine, with so many new Australian shows being made, and I'm thrilled to be a part of it."

Michael Healy, Director of Programming, Nine Network Australia, said: “Toni has been a great asset to the Video Show for the past 5 years, and we thank her for her commitment and hard work.  We are looking forward to working with her on new projects to be announced soon.”

“The show has been an enormous success since it started way back in 1990, hosted by Graham Kennedy.  We have had several hosts over the years, and are sure that the Australian audience will continue to watch, and enjoy this great family entertainment show, in 2008 and beyond.”

The Nine Network will start looking for a replacement host immediately.

Australia’s Funniest Home Video Show will return to Nine on Saturday February 16, 2008

She means it's an exiting time as now Nine are full of energy with fresh ideas and are now the hunter instead of the hunted. A role Nine relishes imo. You'll probably find Nine will increase it's audience this year while Seven have only one place to go and that's down. So Nine will close the gap this year and eventually be back on top a year or two after that it's only a matter of time.

Anyway it's excellent news about Shelley. I reckon she'll do a great job on AFHV!

Well that's looking at things optimistically! 9 have absolutely nothing this year, and if by fresh ideas you mean The Chopping Block it bombed badly with more competition coming next week. As for energy, Shelly Craft may have a lot of it but she is sooooo god damn annoying, almost as bad as Catriona Rowntree. All topped off by their biggest star, Ray Martin leaving - even if it was on "amicable terms".

Seven may not be as strong as last year, but the only network I see improving this year is ten. Seven have the olympics which should only consolodate their win whilst 9 will continue to perform poorly with it's poor direction and lack of content. There are only so many repeats of CSI one can handle!
