All he did was have the idea of re-shooting the show with American actors. They didn't even have to write a script. |

What was Kelsey Grammar thinking. After coming off two of the greatest sitcoms ever he does this tired rubbish. |

It almost seems like in America, you can't have a TV show with anything but the American accent! Why else would they refilm The Sketch Show with American actors? Did they think ppl wouldn't watch if there were Poms in the show? And don't get me started on Finding Nemo, it make no sense why the fish in the tank don't have Australian accents, they were bought locally from various pet stores wern't they?! |

That's pretty common. Did you know they re-dubbed Mad Max? They're probably more accepting these days though. But there does seem to be an aversion to watch anything not American. Its probably the main reason they try to remake all those British shows. I suppose they're just so used to seeing their own stuff. They don't have our problems.
As far as Nemo goes though, as long as we're in the realms of talking fish, I wouldn't get too picky about the accents. |

Not that I don't see your point though. The pelican and the sharks had Australian accents. Why not the fish?
Now you've got me thinking about it. But basically it comes down to the fact that Americans want to watch Americans. |

Wasn't one of the writers on The Sketch Show an Australian? Matthew Hardy who according to the website http://www.imdb.com used to write for the show Comedy Inc. |

Kitty Flanagan was only in the British version of The Sketch Show. I remember reading somewhere that Matthew Hardy was personally approached by Kelsey Grammer to write for the American version. |
