The Young And The Restless: Recap of What you've missed!
Extract taken from TV Week Website.

2000

Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon (Sharon Case) bought the coffee house, angering Victor (Eric Braeden). Ultimately, Nick resigned from Newman Enterprises.

Jabot hit on a teen promo, helping Billy (Ryan Brown) and Mac (Ashley Bashioum) to reconnect.

When Brittany (Lauren Woodland) discovered that Billy and Mac had been involved for months, she vowed revenge. During a night shoot at the Glow house, Brittany drugged Billy, making it appear that they had slept together. When Mac spied them, she felt betrayed and gave Billy the cold shoulder.

Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) returned to Genoa City as a website producer.

Victor wooed Ashley (Eileen Davidson), who asked Brad (Don Diamont) to be her childbirth coach. She ultimately accepted his proposal.

Olivia (Tonya Lee Williams) had an out-of-body experience that set her on the road to recovery.

Matt Clark (Rick Hearst) planned to trap Nick.

Malcolm (Shemar Moore) learned Callie (Siena Goines) was still married to Trey (Rodney Van Johnson)! He dumped her but still lost custody of Nate (Bryant Jones).

Mac was frightened by Jill's (Jess Walton) search for her mother, prompting Billy to hide her.

Victor urged Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) to quit Jabot.

Chris (Lauralee Bell) wasn't ready for a baby.

2001

Nick arrived home before Carter (who was actually a surgically altered Matt Clark) could rape a passed-out Sharon.

Later, Carter arranged to meet Sharon in an isolated cabin, where he planned to video himself violating her, but Paul (Doug Davidson) intervened. Carter escaped with a furious Tricia (Sabryn Genet) who drove them both over a cliff.

In hospital, Carter killed himself by disconnecting his ventilator and tried to make it look like Nick murdered him. Warton (David Shark Fralick) later testified to free Nick.

Tricia began seeing Carter/Matt. His ghost talked her into trying to kill her father. Tricia moved in with Victor, whom she planned to seduce.

At Victoria (Heather Tom) and Ryan’s (Scott Reeves) wedding, Tricia shot Ryan, who later died in hospital.

A pregnant Sharon fell and lost her baby. She blamed Nick and their marriage disintegrated.

Diane (Alex Donnelley) had a boy, but a test found the child wasn’t Victor’s. He ordered Diane to leave town. Nikki told Victor that she had swapped the sperm samples.

A judge ordered Olivia to share custody of Nate with Malcolm.

Brad adopted Abby.

Chris asked Paul to go to Hong Kong with her, but he declined. Later, Chris found Paul kissing a client, Isabella (Eva Longoria). Later, Isabella finds out she’s pregnant.

Mac and Raul (David Lago) found a tape proving that Brittany and Billy had never made love.

Amanda (Denice Duff) came back to town, but Mac, who is now Katherine’s (Jeanne Cooper) legal charge, wanted nothing to do with her.

Phyllis romanced Jack (Peter Bergman), who wanted a child. Jack proposed to her, but Phyllis broke it off because she couldn’t conceive.

2002

Nikki discovered that the sperm she’d switched was Jack’s! Victor and Nikki married. Lorie Brooks (Jaime Lyn Bauer) returned to Genoa City. Mary (Carolyn Conwell) flew to Australia to get Chris to come home! News of Isabella’s pregnancy shocked Chris. She returned home to handle Sharon’s legal separation case.

Isabella pressured Paul to marry her, while Michael (Christian LeBlanc) wooed Chris! She accepted his marriage proposal. Paul forced himself on Chris, who left town. Sharon leaned on Diego (Greg Vaughan) and Grace (Jennifer Gareis) returned! Nick rejected her offers of TLC.

Victoria and Diego hooked up. Nick moved out. Victor bribed Diego with $100,000 to leave town. Nikki revealed that Diane’s son, Kyle, was Jack’s son. Diane moved into the Abbott pool house so Jack could be close to Kyle. Someone set fire to the pool house. Diane escaped and Phyllis was arrested for arson. Neil (Kristoff St John) became a drunk.

Alex (Alexia Robinson) and Malcolm planned an African honeymoon, and Malcolm drove over a bridge and died. Dru brought her beau, Wes (Ben Watkins), and Lily (Christel Khalil) home.

Ashley was diagnosed with breast cancer. Sean (David Lee Russek) broke it off with Jill. Mac feared she was being stalked. Her stepfather, Ralph (Daniel Quinn), blackmailed Amanda into helping him. Ralph, who kidnapped Katherine and went after Mac, was killed in a struggle with Warton. Amanda left town, and Billy and Mac reunited.

Brittany smashed her car, paralysing Raul. Olivia learned the truth of Abby’s paternity and threatened to tell Brad, whom she’d fallen for. Ashley overheard Olivia admit to Dru that she loved Brad.

Anita (Mitzi Kapture) seduced JT. Jill was duped by a con woman professing to be her mother. Billy proposed to Mac. Michael confessed to Chris, who dumped him and went to Los Angeles to find Paul. Jill learned that Katherine was her mother. Katherine suffered a stroke.

Dru accepted Neil’s marriage proposal. Mac and Billy learned they were siblings and he left town. Colleen broke up with JT. Bobby Marsino (John Enos) offered Brittany a job at his club. Chris became the prime suspect in Isabella’s death.

Kevin (Greg Rikaart) wooed Lily online. Wes proposed to Olivia. Isabella tried to kill Chris, whom she’d been framing. Paul rescued Chris. Kevin tried to kill Colleen. Ashley lost her baby and Brad blamed Victor. Jack accepted a loan from Diane and offered her a job. Nick discovered that Michael (on Victor’s behalf) tried to bribe Lauren (Tracey Bregman) to favour his cosmetic line, Safra. He turned Victor in.

Ashley became delusional, pretending her son was alive. Chris refused Paul’s marriage proposal. Victor’s brother, Matt, told Victor their father was dying. Victor visited and said his father could go to hell. Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian) showed up at Chris’s home. Phyllis and Jack separated. Sharon confessed to Michael that she’d been beaten.

Sharon and Nikki thought they found Cameron’s body, but he turned up alive and well.

Jack quit Jabot. Bobby proposed to Brittany. Brad left town with Abby, but returned.

WHO'S BACK?

Tracey Bregman as Lauren
This familiar face hits town to involve herself with a younger man. I really believed I was done with acting, the Emmy winner admits, but when Y&R called, I realised I could still connect with my emotions through acting.

Ashley Bashioum as Mac
After leaving to concentrate on her education and non-soap acting opportunities, Chicago-born Bashioum returned this year to hook up with JT!

Michael Damian as Danny
The producers had been looking for ways to bring Danny back and I’m thrilled they made it happen, says the Y&R veteran, who left LA to try his luck in France. He’s produced a TV series, Red Eye, and a new CD. On-screen, Danny has rekindled his relationship with his soul mate, Chris. He was never over Chris and now they can try to get it right, Michael says.

I must say that I am starting to like the characters Michael and Kevin. With the 4 years brought forward, I prefer Y&R to DOOLS. DOOLS has been very dissapointing.
