Meet the stars you chose to battle it out for the big gongs in the 2004 TV Gold Logie Most Popular Personality on TV. For the full list of nominees buy this week's copy of TV WEEK.

Lisa Chappell
Claire McLeod might be gone, but Lisa is not forgotten! This is the second TV WEEK Gold Logie nomination for the McLeod’s Daughters actress. Lisa has taken time out of acting to work on her budding music career, and is excited about the prospects that lie ahead. she tells TV WEEK she is looking forward to attending the Logies as it will give her the opportunity to catch up with some old friends. And if she heads home with a little gold statuette? Well, that’s the icing on the cake!

Rove McManus

Rove McManus will stop at nothing to win his second Gold Logie! “I’m going to do a Tonya Harding kind of spanner-to-the-knee thing with all the fellow nominees, so even if their name is read out they just physically won’t be able to get up there,” he laughs. Rove picked up the award last year, and has admitted the Gold Logie has opened doors for him. “Let’s just say that it wasn’t long after the award that we signed our network deal,” he explains.

Georgie Parker
There can be no denying that Georgie Parker is one of Australia’s most popular actresses. When she accepted her TV WEEK Logie Award for Most Popular New Talent in 1990 it became clear that Australia would be seeing a lot more of her. Fourteen years later and fans still love her. And Georgie still loves the Logies. “I don’t really tend to get dressed up much in my own life, so to go out to something like that where someone looks after you, dresses you and does your make-up is great,” she says.

Delta Goodrem
What a year it’s been for Neighbours star Delta Goodrem. This time a year ago, the beautiful actress-turned-singer was having her first taste of Logies victory, picking up the Most Popular New Female Talent award. But then in July last year, Delta was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s disease and underwent rigorous chemotherapy. Six months later, things are looking up for the star. Not only did she scoop the pool at last year’s ARIA Awards, she’s also returned to acting, accepting the title role in Hating Alison Ashley.

John Wood
John Wood has done it again! This is the Blue Heelers actor’s eighth consecutive TV WEEK Gold Logie nomination for his portrayal of Snr Sgt Tom Croydon in the popular police drama. In previous years, John has lost out on the award to fellow Blue Heelers star Lisa McCune, but this year it’s just him representing the Mt Thomas constabulary. Although John has won three TV WEEK Logie Awards over the years, he has never managed to take home the Gold. Could this be his year?

------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a feeling Delta Goodrem's fans have been out in forced– she might be taking the little golden foetus home this year. But John Wood might get some votes since he hasn't won one in 8 years of nomination.

*voted Rove* GO you good thing!!

I don't understand how Delta can be nominated for a gold Logie with role on freaking "Neighbours", or does this take into account her musical success as well?

Technically no it doesn't take into account her music (unless u include Video Hits and live performances on Micallef or indeed even the 2003 Logies).

The award is for most popular personality on Australian tv, as voted by TV Week readers. The nominations always reflect the demographic of the readership, ergo, a lot of Delta music fans.....

Come off it.  Delta was on air with Neighbours until about Sept.

It's admittedly a vote by her musical fans, but to say she wasn't on tv last year is idiotic.

But Bert's not really "popular" amongst the TV Week voters

Mmm.. I think CSI may take the Logie for Most Popular Overseas Drama from 24 Grrrr, but Kiefer Sutherland could take the Logie for Most Popular Overseas TV star

No offence to you all but I don't see how anyone can think of the Logies as crediable. Think about it, the winner is someone who is voted by a bunch of people. While that may show they are popular it doesn't show that they are a good entertainer. Also, the people who do read TV Week do represent the populas, they are a small minority and are normally (without sounding sexist) women. I really do believe a proper and more tasteful event should be held, something less tacky. Do others agree?

nice 2 meet u gribble, i do read tv week, but I must admit, Delta has played the sympathy card too far - any bet she refuses 2 go back to neighbours and a court battle will happen - bigger than her golden boots or what?

Normally people who purchase TV Week don't like to admit it... *akward grin* Okay that's just me

And plus... it's not really reading rather then flipping through it, I can't believe they charge us $3.00 a week for just a tv guide you can get free with the newspaper. I have no common sense *likes the TVW's guide layout* so colourful
