Call it a fall from grace. Call it a bump in the road. Hell, call
it a coup de grace for all we care. When a show that consistently
places in the top three takes a ratings dip like this, you can bet
it’s an indication that something needs to change. Perhaps it’s
time for Xena to consider a new see through corset. Or, maybe
go for a full hour of gratuitous lesbian action?
Hey, they’re just suggestions.
Xena earned an anemic 3.3 household rating, and a 1.8 in the key adults 18-49 demographic for last week.. That’s off by a staggering 30% compared to this time last year.
See through corsets and an infusion of lesbian action may not be the answer,
but it certainly sounds like ratings gold to us.
In other ratings news:
The X-Files held the top spot among off-network weeklies earning a 4.9 in households and a 3.2 in adults 18-49.
Among rookie weeklies Stargate SG-1 edged out V.I.P. for the No. 1 crown,
posting a 2.7 in households. V.I.P. fell to a 2.5 in households (down 14% from the previous week).
The Jerry Springer Show led the talk show field, scoring a 6.7 in households, and a 4.8 in women 18-49.
Judge Judy, led all court shows, with ratings similar to the previous week’s.
