X-Files renews for another season - minus Duchovny?Thursday 18 May 2000

With or without star David Duchovny, the aging spook-fest The X-Files will go into production for an eighth season.
The Fox network in the States yesterday inked deals with series cerator Chris Carter and star Gillian Anderson. Duchovny has yet to sign on the dotted line.
If he doesn't, it is rumoured a special series finale will be written into the current season, in which Duchovny's character Agent Mulder is abducted by aliens.
