After cutting the majority of their reality shows from the new fall schedule, America's
Fox Network recently announced re-orders for World's Wildest Police Videos (13 episodes)
Guinness World Records (13), and World's Funniest Videos (7).
This is the equivalent of a boss firing an employee, then asking them if they
can be available to work in a few weeks if the new guy doesn’t cut the mustard.
Rare in real life, but surprisingly common in tinsletown.
Fox’s reasoning, by the way, is that they might need the episodes to replace
a newcomer to the fall line-up, if in fact, the ratings are not there.
A Fox spokeswoman also addressed the recent Supreme Court ruling
contending that shows such as COPS and World’s Wildest Police Videos should not be affected by Monday’s decision to limit the media's access
inside homes during police searches.
At least until someone sues the hell out of the network, that is.
