Is TV 2000 shaping up to be the year of the one woman show?

Hot off the heals of the announcement that Tottie Goldsmith with host a talk show on the Seven Network called Girl Talk, comes the hotter whisper that Melbourne's Fox FM Breakfast host Tracey Bartram (check out her website at http://www.tracybartram.com.au/) will be the Nine Network's new Kerri-Anne. Word in from our insider at Nine is that an Oprah-style talkshow has got the go-ahead for the 1pm or 1.30pm weekday timeslot.

In the yet-to-be-confirmed-but-why-are-we-still-hearing-about-it-file, we can pull out two more females going solo on two more networks. Think Kate Langbroek on Ten and, prepare yourself, Lee Lin Chin on SBS. The former is still being linked to a news/current affairs show with a 'funky' attitude, whilst the former looks set to branch out into a weekly public affairs show (and the Sofcom office reckons its about time - Lee is our OPSM icon).
