Following the huge success of Seven's Popstars (the 3rd episode rated number 1 around the country), the Nine Network announced today it is set to start production on the biggest new talent quest yet - StarStruck!
Although not confirmed as a regular series (Nine prefers to call it a series of one hour "specials"), StarStruck! will only show the cream of the crop of performers who manage to pass a formal audition process. Panels of celebrity judges will decide who gets the chance to perform on national TV.
The winner will receive a one year contract with the Nine Network, which we at Sofcom guess cancels out any cow bell ringers.
The host of StarStruck! has yet to be announced.
Auditions for StarStruck! will be held in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane on Saturday February 26. Audition details can be accessed by ringing 1902 211 911 (cost of call 75c).
