Disco diva Thelma Houston, currently touring Australia with the musical Fame, will headline the 1999 Carols By Candelight telecast.

Joining Houston will be Australian artists Tom Burlinson, Marina Prior, Debra Byrne, Micael Cormick, Jo Beth Taylor, the cast of the children's program HI-5, Julie Anthony, Water Rats star Jay Laga'aia and opera singer David Hobson.

The event will be hosted by Glenn Ridge and Jennifer Keyte and the musical conductor is Peter Sullivan, taking over from Geoff Harvey.
