Network Ten has recently signed with Paramount Productions, the major film and television
conglomerate. This means that the network can now screen television classics such as "Happy Days"
and "Cheers".
New shows in the deal include "Encore, Encore" which is currently screening on the
NBC network in the United States and Ted Danson's new comedy, "Becker". Ten now has the rights
to the Paramount Film collection as well, so it can now screen "The First Wives Club" and "Sliding
Doors".
Existing Paramount Productions such as "Entertainment Tonight", which is shown on the
Nine Network will move to Ten when it's current season has finished screening. Ten will make the
decision in the next few weeks on which programs it will decide to screen this coming ratings season.
