Where do TV stars go when they are away from television? Well it seems
that quite a few of them will be performing at the 12th Melbourne
International Comedy Festival beginning in April.
Julia Morris (IMT and ex-Full Frontal) and Julie McCrossin (Good News Week) are just two celebs lined up for Humourists Read Humourists, where guests share their favourite pieces of funny writing.
Judith Lucy (ex-The Late Show) performs a stand-up
comedy routine in The Show, as does Lynda Gibson
(ex-Let The Blood Run Free) in She'll Be Right.
If you've ever wanted to see more of the fat bloke from Bana, then you will get your chance when Dave O'Neil does his schtick in It's Hot Inside The Bearsuit.
Irish funnyman Jimeoin (ex-Bligh, ex-Jimeoin) returns to stand-up comedy, as does Richard Stubbs (ex-MMM DJ, ex-Tonight Live).
Jane Clifton (ex-Prisoner) joins funnygirls
Tracy Harvey and Denise Scott in the theatre
performance of Mum's The Word, which is produced by Steve
Vizard's Artist Services company.
Henri Szeps who played the other son in Mother and
Son, Robert the dentist, performs in I'm Not a Dentist.
One highlight of the festival should be the two editions of Good News Week recorded live from Melbourne. Paul McDermott will be joined by regulars Mikey Robbins and Julie
McCrossin, as well as special guests.
Finally, Ernie Sigley (ex-Ernie and Denise) sings
at the Crown Casino Showroom. This isn't actually part of the comedy festival, but it may as well be.
