Streisand goes from Melbourne to MameThursday 9 March 2000 By eBroadcast Staff and agencies.
It may be raining on her parade in Sydney, but Babs is looking beyond the storm clouds.
Sofcom reported on this story in early 1999, but here's something more concrete. According to USA's Variety, superdiva Barbra Streisand will produce and most likely star in the TV musical remake of the broadway hit Mame.
Writer Peter Tolan and director Rob Marshall (of TV's Annie - which will screen here later in 2000 on Nine), have committed to the American ABC network's adaptation of the Jerry Herman musical.
Streisand will officially commit to starring as Mame, after reading the final draft of the script.
