In what will bring a smile to the face of Network Ten executives here in Australia, the producer of such TV classics as NYPD Blue, Hill Street Blues, and Doogie Howser, M.D. recently inked a five-year, $45-$50
million deal with Paramount to produce several programs for the TV studio.
The deal could be the biggest in history for a television producer and speaks volumes about Bochco's valuable creative talent. Bochco's previous arrangements with CBS and 20th Century Fox Television/ABC yielded the aforementioned NYPD Blue and Doogie Howser, plus Murder One and the short lived Brooklyn South.
Needless to say, Bochco won't have any future problems paying the rent.
