Once again the cry has gone up regarding the lack of Australian made sitcoms. It has been heard around the traps that pilots commissioned by the commercial networks have been deemed “too bad” and are gathering dust on network shelves.

When will the networks bite the bullet and give the necessary time and effort for development of our own sitcoms that can then be onsold in the major world markets?

This country has such a great potential to produce quality sitcoms if only the networks would allow themselves to think global. They must set realistic budgets and give the "newcomers" a chance. By going back to the same tired writers, over and over again, we will never see quality sitcoms "made in Australia" on our screens.
