Garry Shandling has been officially named as host of this years Emmy Awards.

Although not nominated for any awards himself, Shandling joked, "I am really looking forward to the Emmys this year because there is nothing I can lose except my dignity".

The comedian is best known for his own Emmy Award winning comedy series, The Larry Sanders Show.
