Hey Hey It's Saturday (6.30pm, Channel 9) returns for 1998 with more fun, laughs, local and international guests, and regular segments including Red Faces, Plucka Duck and Celebrity Head.

Hercules and Xena return with new episodes (7.30pm & 8.30pm, Channel 10). The first Hercules episode is Beanstalks and Bad Eggs where Hercules fulfils a promise to a dying woman by enlisting the help of the King of Thieves. On their journey they come across a giant beanstalk and an irate giant. In the episode Intimate Stranger, Xena is haunted by the killing of Castello many years ago. Ares, the god of the underworld, swaps Xena's identity with that of Castello and the two women battle it out to see who really should have been killed.

Roar follows Hercules and Xena (9.30pm, Channel 10) with the episode Red Boot. Conor is summoned by the druid Father' where he is instructed to symbolically marry a druid novice, to strengthen the tribes. A nervous Conor is presented with his new bride, Molly, Fergus' daughter; while Longinus' campaign against the tribes becomes more violent.
