He may be the man of the moment, but it came at a price. Gladiator's Russell Crowe described his response to a memo from Gladiator producers asking him not to play soccer until shooting was over, for fear of injury.
"That was funny . . . I mean, they'd let me run in front of chariots, wrestle tigers, and do battle with 5,000 men in the snow and mud. The memo I sent back was, 'I can wrestle four tigers, but I can't play soccer? Get over it. Love, Russell.'"
