You know things are not going well when your affiliates agree to pay for shows, but won't air them. In other words, the America's NBC affiliates of The Roseanne Show would rather light a match to

millions of dollars in valuable ad space then subject their viewers to any more of Roseanne. Ouch.
Low ratings are part of the problem, although for anyone who has seen the show can tell you, there's a good reason for the show's crappy performance. It sucks. The NBC affils were supposed to carry Roseanne for another year, but are crying ”no mąs!, and will discontinue buying installments of the clunker from distributor King World until September.
This is a heavy blow to Roseanne, and chances are the show will not be able to find other outlets to replace the NBC affils in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia and six other crucial markets because of its miserable ratings.
