Fading celebrity, Rick Springfield, has been arrested for spousal assault.

The singer and his wife allegedly had gotten into a heated argument, which was overheard by his sister-in-law who promptly dialed the police. Springfield, who describes himself as a "pretty good husband" on his official Website, spent the night in jail before being released on US $50,000 bail.

Springfield is best known for his eighties hit Jessie's Girl as well as his once high profile acting gig on General Hospital.
