Fans of Recovery would have received a bombshell last
Wednesday night, had they been watching The Panel. The
Panel's TV reporter announced that the ABC was axing the popular
youth music show because of escalating costs.
On Saturday's edition of the
show, Dylan Lewis scotched the rumours, stating that
Recovery would indeed return in March 1999. He even placed a
flashing neon sign on the set to reiterate this. Perhaps the truth of the
matter was revealed in a Melbourne Herald Sun report (12/9)
that stated "instead of shows all year, on a reduced budget, the producers
have decided to keep the standard by screening for a shorter time".
So it
looks like Recovery will be back, but there won't be as many
episodes.
