PAT RAFTER will be aiming for a "three-peat" when he returns
to Flushing Meadows in New York for the 1999 US OPEN TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS,
which will be telecasts exclusively on the Nine Network from August 30 to September 12.
After winning the grand slam event for the past two years, Rafter will again lead the
Aussie charge at tournament together with last year's beaten finalist Mark Philippoussis
and rising star Jelena Dokic.
Rafter's victory against Philipoussis in last year's final was watched by more than two
million Australian viewers.
