Prince Charles, the former husband of Princess Diana, made a rare television appearance last week with a surprise visit to Britain's longest running soap.

Coronation Street, which has been running for forty years, celebrated its anniversary with the appearance of the future King of England. In the episode, Charles appears at the royal opening of a new office block in the fictional town of Weatherfield.

This is not the first time Royalty has visited the set of Coronation Street. In 1982, Queen Elizabeth II made a royal cameo.
