Politics for Cop Shop StarMonday 20 July 1998 By eBroadcast Staff and agencies.

According to a report in the Melbourne Herald-Sun, former Cop
Shop actress Joanna Lockwood, who played ditzy ex-stripper
Valerie in the series, is running for a seat in the NSW Upper House.
She is Number two on the Registered Clubs Association's ticket (whatever
that is). Lockwood joins the list of her co-stars who have gone
into politics or political activism.
Terry Norris (Sgt Eric O'Reilly) became a Victorian M.P. during the
John Cain years and Lynda Stoner (Detective Amanda King) has
become an animal rights activist. I seem to remember Greg Ross
(Detective Tony Benjamin) also throwing his hat into the ring for
either local or state politics.
What next? Constable Roy Baker for P.M.?
