The "he" is Sam Newman and the "voice" is Kerry Packer. This week our favourite network larrikan was told in no uncertain terms to keep his nose clean from here on in.
Sources close to the call said that the network boss was not at all happy with the bad press Sam has been receiving lately. He feels it reflects badly on the network and he wants Sam to clean up his personal life and problems that have been aired so publicly, including on the top-rating Footy Show
It all started with that fateful night at the Casino which resulted in Sam being banned for a period of time plus the drink driving charge. Then the plumber punching him out followed soon after. The crowning (sorry, couldn't pass it by) glory was the incident with his girlfriend as she drove over him after their latest spat.
This isn't the first time that Kerry has made a phone call to one of the Footy Show stars. Eddie McGuire received one not too long ago. In Eddie's case I would say this was just one of many by various executives from both television and radio.
