O.J. Won't PayFriday 28 July 2000 By eBroadcast Staff and agencies.
O.J. Simpson, the (in)famous ex football player, actor and murder suspect, has vowed never to pay the $33.5 million he owes due to losing his wrongful death civil trial.
"I will never pay any dime of that verdict", Simpson told American program Today. "I don't believe I owe anything". Simpson also added that he was prepared to undergo a lie detector test, but only if he was paid $3 million.
Simpson was found not guilty of the 1994 murders of his ex wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. However, in a 1997 civil trial, a jury found him liable for the deaths and ordered him to pay $33.5 million in damages to the surviving Brown and Goldman family members.
