Tim Bombs Out Again
Well, it looks like Tim Ferguson's TV future is once again on hold and in some doubt. The Nine Network has given a big "thumbs down" to Tim's new variety show Girl Friday and nothing else is on the horizon for Tim.
Peter Wynne, the exectutive producer, expressed his bitter disappointment and frustration when the word came down from above. He is not very happy about it as he is of the very strong opinion this show met the demographics for the network.
So it's now back to the drawing board to see if they can come up with another concept that the network will like.
Mimi Strikes Out Too
Network Ten has said no to the Entertainment Tonight type of show that was piloted recently. Mimi Macpherson was lined up as co-host with Angela Bishop, but the network executives did not think the show was up to viewer standards.
The concept, a very good one by the way, was being thought of for the six o'clock weekday time slot. A very good move by Ten as it follows their top one-hour news broadcast and will give viewers a wonderful choice. Too bad the pilot didn't work.
Maybe Ten needs to look at some new hosts who are more aligned with the entertainment industry. Gold 104's LA correspondent, Big Al, comes to mind. Maybe they should contact Gavin Wood to see if they can reach Big Al.
