You don't need a lifeline to discover that Channel Nine's Who Wants To Be A Millionaire was the highest rating Millionaire program on air last night, averaging a national audience of over 1.2 million people. By comparison Seven's $Million Chance Of A Lifetime only averaged 645,000.
Nine's Millionaire performed strongly in every capital city in its new 5.30pm timeslot. In Melbourne the show averaged 406,000 viewers (rating: 16,21), in Sydney 307,000 (rating: 14,18), in Brisbane 268,000 (rating: 18,21), in Adelaide 115,000 (rating: 15,19) and in Perth 120,000 (rating: 14,18).
$Million Chance came third in all markets, averaging 152,000 people in Melbourne (rating: 6,8), in Sydney 202,000 (rating: 9,10), in Brisbane 131,000 (rating: 8,10), in Adelaide 86,000 (rating: 10,14) and in Perth 74,000 (rating: 8,12).
The real winner in all this is Channel Ten's 5pm News, which held together nicely during the entire hour nationwide, scoring second place.
