The Nine Network confirmed today it had picked up the successful crime-fighting program Australia's Most Wanted.
The series, directly responsible for over 280 arrests including 29 murder charges, will move to Nine following the Seven Network's decision not to renew it.
Grundy Television will begin pre-production immmediately on the new series. Nine is yet to confirm the timeslot or announce who will host the program.
"Australia's Most Wanted was a top performer for Seven in the hardest timeslot of the week - against Friends. The program provides a valuable community service and deserves to stay on air," Nine Network Director of News and Current Affairs Peter Meakin said.
"We are speaking with Grundy Television about what format the new series will take, but it will definately be on air before the end of the year."
