It is rumoured that the Gold Coast may be getting a new broadcast news
service.
Nine's current 5.30pm Gold Coast News and Brisbane Extra receives a viewing audience of 171,000. So, Seven has decided to jump on the bandwagon and launch their own Gold Coast News in June or July.
The Gold Coast already has Prime Local News (Seven's affiliate) but it has never rated well. At this stage it is not known if Seven will have this news at the same time as Nine's GC News (5.30pm).
In other news...
A Nine Gold Coast News journalist is joining National Nine News in Perth, leaving the space vacant for former WIN Cairns (regional Nine) News Director, Matthew Dunstan, who will join in the news team in late March.
