The rumors have been floating around Hollywood for weeks. Is a new Star Trek series in our future? According to Paramount writer Brannon Braga and series exec producer Rick Berman are currently tossing around ideas, but nothing is set in stone.

There has been talk that the next series could go younger, and focus on life at the flight academy. A Paramount spokeswoman, though, kicked that notion to the curb, calling the rumor of a teen Trek "bogus." "[Brannon and Berman] are in the early, early stages of a new series concept," she said. "It's early on in the stages of discussion of what it is or isn't, but it's not [about Starfleet Academy]. That's never even been discussed."

One thing about Hollywood rumors: There is usually some truth to them. Unless they're about Richard Gere, that is. We'll keep you posted.
