Deal of the "Century":
Robin Leach, host of Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous, may soon be back on television sharing the wealth. Pearson Television, a large European media giant, is developing a revamped version of the classic game show "Sale of the Century" with Leach hosting. Bert Wheeler and Sharon Sussman, producers of the original "Sale" and more recently, MTV’s Singled Out, want to return the show to its former glory, but update it with a hipper attitude with quirky question categories and prizes such as free maid service for a year and exotic vacations. The show could be ready to air by 1998, but insider sources say that they will use the upcoming Pictionary as a test to see how popular updated game shows are to today’s audiences.
In case you forgot, Reg Grundy sold his company to Pearson Television last year but the local Grundy executives are still running the show here in Australia.
