John Cleese has edited excerpts of a train wreck from the Monty Python 30th Anniversary special. A tragic train crash near England’s Paddington Station Tuesday, resulting in at least 33 deaths, was cited as the reason for the last-minute alterations.
"(Monty Python) always specialized in bad taste but there are some jokes you could never do," Cleese said Thursday.
On a more upbeat note, the famous dead parrot sketch will get a face-lift, courtesy of South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone. The comedy troupe decided to use Kenny in place of the parrot after reading an unsolicited script from Parker and Stone.
The special airs Saturday night on the BBC.
