Amid the topsy-turvey world that is TV News in 2003, EBroadcast has just heard the best newsreader-hopping rumour yet.
Which two popular newsie types from rival networks have been seen chatting to the big boss at Channel Nine?
Enter Jessica Rowe and George Negus.
Rowe, currently one half of the popular Ten News duo at 5pm, is believed to have been openly invited to chat with the heavies at Nine - in full view of newsroom staff. Apparently some very nervous female journos are watching their back.
Negus, who currently hosts ABC's laid-back public affairs show New Dimensions at 6.30pm, is also believed to be returning phone calls from Nine.
Interestingly, Nine's Today Show has been canvassed as a possibly vehicle for the two new out-of-towners.
