Will this be the last year for Daryl Somers on Hey Hey It's
Saturday? This year Somers has ditched his commitment to
hosting The Logies and has used guest hosts a number of times
on Hey Hey. This has lead to speculation that he is gradually
moving from an on-air presence to a behind the scenes one. Has he secretly
been test driving a future host? If he does go, who will replace him?
Larry Emdur? Russell Gilbert? Richard Stubbs?Perhaps the show will
become like Saturday Night Live in the U.S., with a different
guest host each week.
Is Denise Drysdale set for a big push from Seven? Now that Kerri
Anne has vacated the variety slot at noon, Execs might be thinking
about moving Denise into that time to grab the blue rinse
audience. Time will tell.
