Morning News BulletinThe American ABC news bulletin currently being presented by Peter Jennings is going to be replaced with a new national nes bulletin at 10:30am. No host has been named yet. Would have been perfect for Gina Boon, but she has already departed the network.
"One Way Ticket"
This is a major television project produced by Grundy Television and inspired by the real life events of the life of Australian prison officer Heather Parker who assisted in the 1993 gaol break of her lover, convicted criminal Peter Gibb and his friend, Archie Butterly, from the Melbourne Remand Centre.
"One Way Ticket" contains fictional elements but uses the locations which closely resemble the different areas in which the actual events occurred in 1993 when the three were on the run.
In this account, the lead character, Deborah Carter (played by Rachel Blakey), is a married prison officer who is seduced by convicted criminal Mick Webb (played by Peter Phelps) and is persuaded to help him break out of goal. Mick's friend, Bertie Freeman (played by Chris Haywood), a dangerous and unpredictable criminal, escapes with him. The three of them are involved in a dagerous chase across Melbourne and the countryside.
The show is scheduled to air later on this month.
