Millionaire quiz goes 3 nights a week in StatesWednesday 1 December 1999 By eBroadcast Staff and agencies.
ABC America have never seen ratings quite like it, so they want more of it.
As of mid-January 2000, the American network will air its hugely popular Who Wants To Be A Millionaire quiz show 3 nights a week, most likely Sunday's, Tuesday's and Thursday's.
Its new structure has gone against the wishes of the show's executive producer Michael Davis, who believes the quiz will lose its 'event' feel if it becomes more permanent.
Meanwhile, the two other major American networks, CBS & NBC, have gameshows lined up - Twenty One and The $64,000 Question, respectively.
No word on when Australia's version of the Millionaire show, hosted by Eddie McGuire, will be back.
